About

In the book The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy the main characters find themselves on a spaceship that is over 900 years late because it is awaiting the delivery of “small, lemon-soaked paper napkins”.

Every weekend I find myself desperately surfing the internet for something we can do or some place we can visit in the pouring rain with a 2 year old kid – and then when I find somewhere I start on the next mammoth search to find a postcode for the Sat Nav.

This website, I am hoping will evolve into my lemon paper napkins – providing a list of activities and places for rain or sun, for toddlers, babies, families or the lone traveler.

For now, it is a blog of places with postcodes – but it will evolve.

These are all places that I have visited and would like to visit again.

They range from walks to steam trains, accommodation to shops.

In fact every place is useful when visiting that area – be it places to visit, places to stay, or places to shop

I hope you find them useful

John
